How One Goes About Buying Bullets

If you should be not a devoted survivalist or hunter, you almost certainly haven’t purchased bullets before.
It turns out that folks really care about what gun they buy. However, bullets are almost an afterthought purchase. Sorry about this bullet product managers. Rob Walker over at the New York Times got thinking about the product conundrum when he researched an organization called Alliant Techsystems (ATK)Building The Better Bullet (Brand)
The next distinct bullets that ATK introduced was called Fusion. With the product line the product managers at ATK were targeting (sorry!) the 25-35-year-old deer hunters. To be able to catch their eye, the company created a new “aggressive” box design and even went in terms of to incorporate a foil label. They basically pimped the box.
Those two products gave the ATK product managers the experience which they needed in order to gain the confidence which they needed in order to do their biggest product launch to date. They recently rolled out a new distinct bullets for duck hunters called Black Cloud. These times they are showing which they know very well what must be performed to show a commodity product in to a must-have product.
ATK has partnered with a common TV personality (in duck hunting circles): Phil Robertson who is known as the “Duck Commander” ;.They’ve also gone ahead and made several “viral videos” in order to build some buzz around their new ammo. Just to show that bullets also play a role in the 21st Century, they’ve gone in terms of to create their individual social networking site called StormChasersNetwork.
Merely to top things off, they have also ensure that the box for the Black Cloud product virtually jumps from the shelf. They dressed it down in a bright color scheme that is designed to catch a hunter’s attention and remind him of the first light of day (which is the greatest time to be hunting ducks).
What All Of This Means For You
I can’t say for several what kind of product you are accountable for managing. However, I could bet that it’s probably a little bit more interesting than a commodity product such as a bullet. In fact, irrespective of how boring you might find it, it’s probably a lot more interesting than a bullet.
With a little luck this story about how exactly the product managers at ATK could see beyond the straightforward fact that they were charged with attempting to sell more of a commodity product that the other bullet makers should inspire you. What the ATK product managers did was to step within their customer’s shoes and identify how they see the world. Once they knew this, it became clear as to what they needed to do.
Take some time considering not what your product does, but rather what your web visitors is going to do along with your product. This will point the way in which forward for tips on how to turn your boring commodity-like product into something which will remove such as a (what else?) bullet.
